 "KOLITONG" a bamboo polychordal tube zither of Bagobo.


Polychordal tube zithers in the Philippines vary from place to place. 
  • Kalinga Kulibit has six or sometimes eleven strings. 
  • Isneg ohitang has five strings: two in front and three in the back. 
  • Ilonggot kollesing has five or six strings. 
  • Subanun sigitan on the other hand has five- strings. 
  • Tirurai tangke has eight strings. 
  • Manobo tugo has seven strings. 
  • Bukidnon Matigsulugsaluray has six strings.


REGION 6: WESTERN VISAYAS
The artist painting and sculptures depicts the flexibility of being a woman.



Kitty’s works show that women are resilient despite the obstacles.



Artist, Kity Taniguchi, her subjects of women in her artworks is to help express her discomfort with the discrimination that every woman has to face in a male-dominant society.

REGION 8: EASTERN VISAYAS 
Tinikling, the Philippines' national dance originated from the region.  the most popular cultural dance among Warays is the Kuratsa, danced during feast celebrations and special gatherings.

REGION 12: SOCKSARGEN
KULINTANG isn't just an istrument for the people of Socksargen. This traditional instrument is also considered as a traditional "women's instrument". The instrument is linked with graceful, slow, frail, and relaxed movements that showed elegance and decorum among females.

NEGROS
Hersley-Ven Casero is another participating artist for Mientras Tanto at Cube Gallery.  His work entitled, 3,2,1 is part of the Helmet Series.  It is inspired by metro Dumaguete as the motorcycle capital of the Philippines.  The helmet is an object for protection and a reminder that we all need to protect ourselves as we direct our course in life.  We are not just numbers, but individuals with a purpose.

CENTRAL LUZON

BANGA DANCE

This dance displays the Igorot women on their way to the river to fetch the daily water supply for thier familys. It shows the skill and strength of the women as they would carry heavy laiden clay pots (Banga) full of water. Their grace and agility while balancing the heavy pots, sometimes stacks 5 high, is a testiment of the Filipino and how hardships become a art form and talent.
